Having been BOARD CERTIFIED by both the AMERICAN BOARD OF PLASTIC SURGERY as well as the AMERICAN BOARD OF SURGERY, Dr. Schaffer has the credentials you can trust. Dr. Schaffer trained in general surgery at Harvard Medical School and at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He learned the art and science of plastic surgery at Yale University. Dr. Schaffer’s great interest in plastic surgery was fostered by his mentor, a Nobel Prize winning plastic surgeon. Additionally, he studied in New York with some of the foremost cosmetic surgeons.
Dr. Schaffer is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of The American Society of Plastic Surgery. He has been elected Chairman of the Department of Surgery, as well as Chief of Staff at Methodist Metropolitan Hospital.
Dr. Schaffer has been recognized as a top plastic surgeon by multiple nationwide, state and regional publications and has appeared in the media as an expert in plastic surgery. He has given multiple seminars and lectures at hospitals and various universities.
