With 30+ years of experience, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Eric S. Schaffer performs customized breast procedures based on each patient’s anatomy and goals. During your confidential consultation, he will explain whether a breast lift alone can achieve the shape and position you want.
What a Breast Lift Can Accomplish
A breast lift, called mastopexy, addresses sagging by tightening the skin envelope and reshaping the existing tissue.
The procedure may:
- Raise the breasts to a more youthful position
- Reposition downward-pointing nipples
- Reduce enlarged areolas
- Improve breast symmetry
- Create a firmer, more rounded shape
- Remove stretched or loose skin
Because no implant is added, your breasts will generally remain close to their current volume. They may appear slightly smaller because loose skin is removed and the tissue is reshaped into a more compact shape.
What a Breast Lift Cannot Do
A breast lift does not considerably increase breast size or restore fullness in the upper breasts. Patients who want more volume, enhanced cleavage, or a rounder upper-breast contour may benefit from adding implants.
However, implants are not necessary for every patient. If you have enough natural tissue and primarily want to correct sagging, a lift alone may provide satisfying results.
Restore a More Youthful Breast Shape with a Breast Lift in San Antonio, TX
You can lift your breasts without breast implants if your main goal is to raise and reshape sagging breasts rather than increase their size. Dr. Schaffer can help you compare a lift alone, a lift with implants, or a lift with fat transfer.
